I have a PC and MS Word, why do I need to use a graphic design company?

Your branding and marketing materials are often the first point of contact with potential customers. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression, and therefore your communication materials need to convey the right image. A design agency will produce marketing materials that will help to impress upon potential customers the professionalism of your company and the service you offer. By producing your own marketing materials you run the risk of appearing amateurish, meaning the loss of potential customers.

What are your payment terms?

For projects where the quote is under $500, we require an initial payment representing 50% of the total fee, before we can commence work on your project. The remainder of the balance is payable upon completion of the job. For projects where the quote is over $500, we require an initial payment of one-third of the total fee, before we can commence work on your project. As the project progresses we will require payment for the second one-third at the halfway point. The remaining one-third of the balance is payable upon completion of the job.

What design services do you provide?

We design everything such as Logo Design, Brand Identity, Printed Materials, Marketing Materials, Art & Illustration, Product Design, Banner Design, Flyer Design, Brochure Design, Voucher Design, Business Card Design, Social Media Post Design, T-shirt Design, Social Media Cover Design, Poster Design, Thumbnails Design, Icon Design, Signage Design, and  Stationery Design. How does the design process work, from my initial enquiry, to completion of the job?

We start all projects by thoroughly discussing the details of the project with the client. From this discussion we establish the specific requirements, which we call The Brief. We believe that client input is a crucial factor to making the project a success. Once we have established the brief, we begin work on the project by researching ideas. These initial ideas are worked up on the latest Apple Mac computers into design visuals using the latest graphic/web design software. The design visuals are then forwarded onto the client for feedback. We listen carefully to client feedback, offering solutions and advice to any issues that may arise. If any alterations are required, these are made and the amended visual is resubmitted to the client. This process continues until we receive client approval.

How will I receive the finished design?

Once we have received the final payment, we will supply all electronic files on a compressed file. For print jobs, you will also receive high resolution PDFs, which can be taken to a printer of your choice.

Who owns the copyright for the designs you produce?

Copyright for all work carried out by VERZEX™ Digital Services Network transfers to the client as soon as the balance has been settled in full. We do, however, reserve the right to use any work for promotional purposes.

I need something designing today, is this possible?

Sometimes customers require our services at very short notice. We can usually accommodate rush jobs depending on the size of the project and how full our production schedule is. These jobs are usually subjected to an additional charge on the flat hourly rate.

How long does a new website take to design and build?

Generally speaking, and dependent on the technical specification, your website will be launched within 6 to 8 weeks from receipt of a signed purchase order and payment, providing all necessary content and information have been supplied. Where do you host the websites?

We use VERZEX™ Hosting and two different hosting suppliers and will advise accordingly based on the size of your website, the functionality required and expected traffic.

Will I be able to edit the content of my website?

Yes – most of it. Each website VERZEX™ creates comes with a CMS (content management system). This means you can edit the text on the pages as often as you like and change things like special offers, photos, prices etc. You will be given full training on the use of the simple CMS (content management system) and this is included in your website package.

Are your websites SEO (Search engine optimisation) friendly?

Yes, all of our websites are built with search engine optimization in mind, so your website can easily be found and crawled by Google, Bing  and other search engines.

Are your websites designed to work across different device types?

Yes, all of the websites we build are fully responsive websites that look great on both desktops and mobile devices.

Unfortunately no one can guarantee number one or even first page rankings on Google, and you should be wary of anyone who promises otherwise. With constant changes to how it processes and evaluates its results, aiming for a page one ranking on Google can often be a moving target. What you should be looking for is a measurable increase in targeted traffic that drives people actively looking for your products or services to your website. This is what will convert into leads and potential sales, and this is what we focus on for our clients.

How much should you spend on SEO?

SEO is similar to any other form of marketing – what you should spend will always be dependent on your budget, objectives, and what you hope to achieve. The amount you spend will directly correlate with the output of work and time frame of expected results.

Can I stop my website from ever getting hacked?
There is no fool-proof method to ensuring your website NEVER gets hacked.
Doesn’t my hosting provider keep my website safe and secure?

Your hosting provider should (hopefully) have at least a basic level of security on their server. However, they do not maintain your WordPress website on your behalf (unless you have a Managed WordPress Hosting LINK: https://verzex.net) so it is up to you to keep your website safe and secure. Or let us do it for you, of course, with our Web Security Plans.

How can I fix my website and then keep it secure?
It’s usually quite a intensive job to fix a hacked website so this is why we would recommend hiring a professional to make sure that it is completely cleaned and any underlying issues are dealt with. Always keep WordPress and your plugins and theme updated to the most recent versions and have a security plugin such as Wordfence installed. This is a bare minimum.
Why do I need to keep my website backed up, and how often should I do it?

You should keep your website backed up so that if anything bad was to happen to it then an earlier version can be restored and any vulnerabilities dealt with. Our standard backup procedure is now daily backups with 31 days of backups stored off-site.

How often should I update my plugins and themes?

Ideally as soon as an update is released for a plugin or theme. Certainly try to check your updates on a weekly basis at least. You can configure Wordfence to notify you via email when a plugin or theme needs updating.

Why do I need an SSL certificate?

An SSL certificate is a major part of website security as it encrypts the data communication between the website and the website visitor. If you take payments, have an online form or if your website has a password protected area (i.e. EVERY SINGLE WORDPRESS WEBSITE!) then you absolutely must have an SSL certificate. Web browsers are now marking websites without an SSL certificate (addresses that start http instead of https) as NOT SECURE. Google search results will soon be doing the same. Will visitors think twice about clicking on your website if it says NOT SECURE on Google? Yep, exactly.

What will happen if my website is blacklisted?

There are a large number of blacklists which your website could be placed on. These range from the inconvenient (more of your outgoing emails being labelled as spam) to the disastrous (having your website completely removed from Google search results).
